Her Rights

Why Her Rights Matter

Across many communities, women and girls face challenges that limit their safety, choices, and independence. These challenges may include restricted access to education, lack of awareness about personal rights, social pressure, unsafe environments, or economic dependency.

Girls may face harassment or be forced to leave school early. Women may experience isolation, emotional stress, or unfair treatment within homes or workplaces  often without knowing where to seek guidance or support.

Her Rights exists to ensure women are not left alone in these situations and that dignity, safety, and opportunity remain within reach.

Waduha’s Approach to Women’s Rights

Her Rights is a support-based and awareness-driven program, designed to strengthen women without putting them at risk.

Waduha works with women and adolescent girls to:

  • Build awareness around personal rights, safety, and wellbeing
  • Provide guidance on seeking help and trusted support systems
  • Create safe learning and discussion spaces where women can speak without fear
  • Encourage confidence, decision-making, and self-worth

The program does not replace legal institutions instead, it focuses on education, referral awareness, and community-level support, helping women understand options and pathways available to them.

Skills, Independence & Moving Forward

Alongside awareness and protection, Her Rights supports women who want to become more independent. Depending on interest and readiness, women and girls are introduced to practical skills that help them build confidence and income opportunities.

This includes:

  • Foundational literacy and learning support
  • Creative and vocational exposure
  • Digital skills such as basic computing, social media, design, photography, and online work readiness

The goal is Khud-Mukhtari enabling women to support themselves, make informed decisions, and move forward with dignity, whether inside the home or beyond it.
